Daniel Andrews Imploding Act

goofed = blundered, made a mistake, was in error, got it wrong, screwed up, made a complete mess of it, fouled up big time, made a bad choice, (tick one).
Valvegear
All of the above plus surrounded by idiots and sycophants many of his own choice.

Nevertheless, Andrews has had the guts to stand up every day for months and face endless criticism. He has also shown a determination (arrogance some may say) to stay the course.  He has also withstood those to whom O'Brien would have caved in long ago simply simply because of $$$$$$$$.

Great comment.

Compare The Age to that other publication that yells at you in one direction only in an attempt to get your attention, no doubt because their readership isn't capable of understanding anything more nuanced!

As if anyone who reads The Age would say anything good about O'Brien.   They would be too busy gushing over the great savior of Victoria, forgetting it was Dan who put us in the back seat to start with.
Yes; Andrews and Co goofed over the hotel quarantine; nobody disputes this. However, he has led us on a path which has a good result and is attracting compliments from other countries - USA is the latest on Seven News this evening. Age readers can actually read, and O'Brien's 15% approval rating isn't anything to write home to mother about.

Now; let's hear from you - what good do you have to say about O'Brien? I won't be hard to get on with; just list one good thing he's done over the past 6 months.
Valvegear
I never said that O'Brien had done anything, just that one would not expect a left leaning paper with a left leaning readership would publish a letter in support of anyone not of the left.

You are quite obviously not a regular reader of The Age. There have been and still are numerous letters published for and against Andrews. The reason why there are none in support of O'Brien may be explained by his 15% popularity rating (or hadn't you thought of that?)

There was an old adage. Is it still true?

'Those that can read read The Age. Those that cannot just look at the pictures in the Herald-Sun.' Smile

Comes back to the fact that every government has seen their approval ratings through the crisis increase - ScoMo and Josh are enjoying record high approval ratings (for example).

There's calls for JobKeeper to be extended beyond its end date early next year - it's going to be really difficult for the government to withdraw these welfare supports for business and individuals without causing big problems.

Is it any different to withdrawing middle and high class welfare in the form of franking credits or negative gearing on investments?

I already know the answer. JobKeeper will be withdrawn because it was only ever promoted as temporary.

I'm glad Credlin is at least asking the tough questions. Someone has to provide balance to the woke Muppets in most of the media, unions and Govt who worship Chairman Dan.

Yes. These idiots are deliberately looking for trouble, and they deserve what they get.  It's only a few days ago that the mob attacked police and their horses. I do not expect our police to be punching bags for a nest of ratbags. Some among them are crying that it's all a hoax, and they should be locked up somewhere safe where they can be treated for severe mental illness.

'woke' 'muppets' 'the media' 'unions' 'worship' 'Chairman Dan' - it's a walking, talking cliche Razz

Almost as balanced a viewpoint as Credlin's.

You obviously won't mind if I refer to you as a 'nazi' in future posts?

At least with Credlin, everyone knows how she leans.
Others, claiming to be independent or balanced, are not doing what their profession entails - asking the relevant questions.
Why did it take 90 days of daily press conferences before someone actually started asking Dan the hard questions?

You attended every press conference, and took careful note of all the questions and who was asking them, did you? I suppose you remember all the complimentary questions Andrews received about his handling of the hotel quarantine, and that nobody asked any hard questions at all about it.
Use your vivid imagination wisely; you have a future as a fiction writer. The only thing you had correct was Credlin's considerable tilt to the right.
  Carnot Minister for Railways

Worth taking a gander at Hansard in Vic Parliament today.  Talk about defending the indefensible (the CCP and Belt and Road).  Shame on Harriet Shing (another CCP puppet that has infected our Govt perhaps?):

And did you lie on the floor screaming and kicking your heels up and down when you thought up that one-liner? It smacks of hysteria.

I won't be hard to get on with; just tell us a couple of ways that he's destroying Victoria. I do like to hear solid evidence, as you may have gathered already.
  Carnot Minister for Railways

Dan Andrews gets a mention at iBAC:

As for Belt and Road - I think the Govt were naive in their desperate pursuit of money and engineering 'skills'. And now they don't want to offend their new Overlords and associated trade relations by criticising the CCP.  And then there's the HCMT debacle...

Yeah says it all Carnot. Full of cliches, anti left rhetoric and meaningless statements like woke.

Credlin is a biased partisan hack. And if you think that the media is all on Dan Andrews side, you are just lying to yourself now.

Without a doubt, Andrews should have plenty of questions to answer about the Belt and Road Initiative and the handling of the hotel quarantine. However anyone who keeps out that racist loser Michael O'Brien and his merry band of ineffective tossers will have my backing 24/7.
