I was lucky enough to be on the first Great Southern from Adelaide to Brisbane a few years ago. Given we can't travel now I thought I'd share the article I wrote on it - I can not wait to get back on the rails!
"The train’s passenger cars are operated by Journey Beyond, but it is hauled by Pacific National, meaning drivers and other staff are employed by PN, not Journey Beyond."
That's an embarrassing typo! We went to the Grampians from Ararat, that should have said Albury!!!!! The other staff point was in my notes from taking to the train manager onboard - but I guess he was referring to ARTC staff who handle train control? In which case it shouldn't read "other staff" - thanks for the pickup!!! I've updated the article
Just as an aside - it demonstrates the old saying that it's impossible to proof-read your own writing. I know I've been picked up a few times, and it was obvious that I read what I expected to read rather than what I had actually written.
