Yes, one would think so. It was my wife's comment: "the last one isn't making any smoke" that prompted my observation. 3642 did have crew in the cabin, so likely it was just "going through the motions" so to speak.

It was dead.  An air line was connected to the lubricator so it would work.   There was a fair amount of heat rising from the chimney at Homebush...

A little surprised. I didn't realise that air carries the oil just as well as steam?
