Gheringhap Sightings w/e 12/12/2020.

There were 93 sightings for this week; This is 3 sightings more than last week. Making a total of 4276 sightings for this year to date. On day 347 last year we had seen 3762 sightings, this is 514 sightings more than at the same time last year.
We saw 16 sighting on the Broad Gauge, which is 7 sightings more than last week. This total included 14 x PN Grain trains and 0 x Qube Grain train and 1 X SSR Grain train. Total B/G trains for this year are 224 (At the same time last year we had seen 111 x B/G trains, this is 113 more than last year.) Total B/G grain trains for this year are 136 (At the same time last year we had seen 25 grain train on the B/G) This is 111 sightings more that at the same time last year.
We saw 77 sightings on the Standard Gauge, which is 4 sightings less than last week. This total included 15 x PN Grain trains, 2 x Qube Grain trains and 0 x SSR Grain and 0 x GWA grain trains. Total S/G trains for this year are 4052. (At the same time last year, we had seen 3651 S/G trains, this is 401 more than last year. Total S/G grain trains for this year are 1121. (At the same time last year, we had seen 660 grain trains on the S/G). This is 461 grain sightings more that at the same time last year.
Total grain trains for this year are 1257, this is 572 more than at the same time last year.

Non-grain sightings now 58 fewer than the same time last year. Some of this is down to the Overdue but on the other hand we have the new log traffic our of Bordertown which will be boosting the numbers somewhat.

The Dooen seems to be running regularly enough, are there other services that have dropped away due to covid I wonder

BG are you thinking this is due to intermodal volumes shrinking for the remainder of the delta?

Not sure, might be due to operators running longer trains, downturn in volume due Covid or a myriad of other things
