Sorry, to bring back this thread, but theres a new ad for Scope (formerly the Spastic Society) filmed at Box Hill platform 3. There is a guy in a wheelchair singing to himself waiting for his train, and after a little while a ALSTOM-refurbished Comeng arrives bound for Belgrave.

They showed a little clip of it on the channel 7 News tonight, and i saw it on the TV earlier in the day.

i saw that too. How come he was on the middle at the platform and not at the front. Unless it was 3 cars.

The show on Nickelodeon was Eugini P.I. Incorrect spelling but it was made in Melbourne and it no longer showing. Thanks my cousin

I think he was at the stopping mark for what would be the rear end of the train. Not the right place, considering it must have been post-midday(ish), but it gave the best effect for the ad I think.

The best scene ever shot for a TV show was at Parliament. I cannot remember the name of the program (Special Agent? c1983) where a guy rode an XR Honda Trailbike down the escalators and into a Comeng!  LaughingLaughing

I want to see this!!!

I was watching Video Hits today, and they played the The Living End's - Prisoner of Society video clip.

Full of train related stuff. Showed the escalators and platform at Parliament station (you could guess the platform by the route map on the wall  Very Happy ) and footage inside a un-refurb Comeng running though Jolimont yard before the fed square rationalisation.

Late 1999's I guess (lots of footage of City Link under construction in the background as well)

On the same topic, there was a kids show (never found out what it was) on Saturday morning, filmed at Puffing Billy. 7A and this crazy-looking sports car were racing each other along Station St in Gembrook, and the sports car tried to stop the train by blocking the track. Guess which one won?  Very Happy

Jackie Chan's "Mr Nice Guy" was on Last week (it has already been discussed in this thread), that's the one where he's the TV chef. It has the scene where he's doing a live cooking show under the shot  tower at Melbourne Central when the bad guys turn up. The following chase scene involves Jackie escaping by sliding down the Swanston Street end escalators of the station. There is also a scene in Swanston Street, that features a lot of green and cream W's and green and gold Z's.

Shame on all of you for failing to mention that classic piece of b-grade aussie cheeze "malcolm"!

Full of trams, trains and inner Melbourne suburbia in general.

A little Trivia from the movie..

The model tram that Malcolm "built" ran on a motorbike engine, the rest having being put together with spare parts by workers at Preston Workshops in Melbourne, Australia. After the film was completed, the tram was donated to the Tramway Museum Society of Victoria.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but...

Tonight on Blue Heelers, at one part they were on location at that area between Newport and Spotswood. I recognised the old blue passenger carriage.

Just thought it'd be interesting to note Wink

Saw the preview for next week, seems to be trouble in the Mt Thomas railyards again!.

Surely Sen Sgt Croydon should lobby for all the old carriages to be removed as so much crime take place around them.

Sen Sgt Croydon has to send a memo to have those cars to be moved *kidding* SRV and the people at West Bolck are happy for the Blue Heelers crew being there!

I can't believe people still live in Mt Thomas. I have never seen so many criminal masterminds in the one town, let alone a small country town with a crimerate so unbelievably high!  Rolling Eyes

What I've noticed about Blue Healer's lately is that when the coppers are out on patrol they just drive up and down Champion Rd, one second you'll see the Williamstown Cemetery and the next you'll see bits of Newport Wrokshops, then they get a call out to some devious crime underway in the Mt Thomas railyards, catch the crooks and take them back to the police station which also just happens to be in the Mt Thomas rail yards.

Has anyone seen the ad with the garden gnomes on the M> Comeng? When the train pulls into a station and a slug gets on you can hear the chime used in Cityrail station PA announcements.

Theres an ad for the THE AGE's sport section, flimed on an M>Comeng. Does anyone have any idea where the train is (ie what line)?

Yup - ever notice that despite the fact that they're in the car for a few minutes of airtime (in which they could probably make the entire length of Champion Rd at 60km/h), they seem to be going past the same bit of cemetery the whole time!? I couple of times I've thought for a second that they must be driving through a cemetery or something!  Laughing

Methinks the bufget for Blue Heelers is ever shrinking, suggesting its eventual death after episode 510 next year.

Blue Heelers last night was, surprise surpise, filmed at Newport Workshops again. They weren't driving down Champion Rd this time though.

There was a girl being threatened with a knife in what looked like a BW carriage. And the Harris Greaser made a couple of appearances Very Happy

Channel 7 have signed Blue Heelers on for another year and have already commenced filming for next years episodes but it was very close to being canned. Good show but how much can one small country town handle Razz

Seven haven't actually signed for a whole year, I think its about three months of next year with an option, depending on ratings.
