Just finished rebuliding a Bachmann shay with a boiler & cab from an old junk brass shay.
Now I'm repowering my SW1200 logging diesels with Ernst gear sets and ModelTorque motors.
Also getting ready to make another run of 20 log cars.

Do you have any pics of the x-trapolis? because i am thinking of building one, for a camberwell Ho Layout that is on the drawing board.

An N scale Tasrail ZB.

Hood done and sitting snugly on its mechanism, the Marklin 8874/8875.

Now do do the cab.  A few nights work to get it right I think.  Then I've got to work out a way to add outer axles to the Marklin trucks.

Cheers

Hi All,

I just finished painting and weathering my 3rd AR Kit's NOCY open wagon from the FreightCorp era, by the end of the night, I will have finished the decalling and weathering of my 4th NOCY also in same era.

I've also have a NGAX wheat hopper I need to decal and weather and the same for a NOGF ore concentrates hopper.

These are the projects I'm working on when in Newcastle, when I'm at home in Sydney, I'm building some RUB cars to be painted in candy.

Overall, I'm quite happy with my NOCY's, I will take some photo's of them in the next few weeks on a layout and hopefully upload them to Railpage.

Cheers

sorry to go off topic breifly, but, u may find it MUCH easier to satisfy what type of layout you want, rather than placeing bits here there etc etc, i did this with my last layout and deeply regrete it. but of course it's your layout, its up to u.

anyway back to the topic.

i currently have a BR blue shunter NO. 08113 that is currently stripped down as contact cleaner was sprayed in it by my father Shocked it's running ok now but will need some plastic grease as the gears are binding

Lots of things in the JMRs workshops at present.  The first of two FO cars is just about ready to roll, just needing some decent wheels.  Its been finished in Tuscan with yellow lining and a silver roof with chalky yellow ends.  I shall start work on the second car sometime this coming week probably.

A Budd RDC railcar is another recent arrival.  Its having some alterations made to conform with the looks of the NSW version that ran on the south coast from the 60s through to the 80s (Pink pilots, black bogies and underframe, black vestibule and new horns).  This is a fairly low priority project so it may take a few months before its in service.

The future branch line mixed train components have also been purchased and are being surveyed.  This train will consist of a 5000 gallon single dome tanker, CV covered van, 2 s trucks and HG brakevan.  The HG will probably be first to be tackled followed by the CV.  A 2000 gallon 4 wheel water gin is also being built.

4806 is undergoing slow work on its pilots (filling in the gaps, fitting buffers) before its sent to the paintshops.

The 2 BS cars are being surveyed with curiosity to see if blinds can be fitted to its windows

Last, but not least, a Lloyds 30 class 4-6-4 tank engine is being built, although, strictly speaking, its not on my workbench but has been contracted out for building.

How is your 710 coming along, Dave?

Heya folks!
I seem to have heaps on the workbench at the moment,
staring with the Loco's - a BGM 700 kit which I am struggling through as its my 1st Kit of this type & i just seem to be letting it sit on the bench Sad
I have also started to build the SA BG Breakdown Crane, the boom made by Model Etch is a treat! that project is coming along well
A pair of BGB CS Cattle Wagons 1 is going fine, the other has been broken more times than a John Howard election promise
And a couple of FB flats which just require painting - which is being done as I learn to use the airbrush & compressor that i got recently

so its all happening  Wink

Sarails I would wait until BGB bring out the CS cattle wagons in the new product (polyurethane) it wont brake and it is much lighter.

I could've waited for that to happen, but i'd still have the kit sitting around begging to be built then Wink so i'm building all the BGB kits that i have sitting around, & i'll get new product when i'm in the market for some steel cars, and other passenger rollingstock Smile

Looking good! Can I ask why the cylinders are white?

Also, what etch primer did you use?
