"Both RP and RB have their place generally whilst each also has its own niche features. It will be good to see both succeed in their own ways in parallel.
RP obviously has a wider readership but, to me, RB has the oft mentioned benefit where one can post photos in a much more user friendly and straightforward manner.

Tnanks YM.  This illustrates perfectly what got up my nose a bit when we were callled "anti-RP".  Railbastard was (and is) a place you could let off steam a bit,    Put it this way, if I were to wake up tomorrow and find myself a Railpage admin, I'd not remove the swearing ban   (though I might ban a few folks, but that's a story for another day).   I always thought of RB as a kinda sister site to this one,.  Smaller, more familiar, but not an enemy.    IF RP is the big CBD nightclub, Railbastard is the little country pub.

Basicallly, as a place to let off steam, I like to think RB actually made things EASIER for the admins here.   I may be wrong about that, but that was  what I had in mind at the time.

Valvegear, thank you for your graciousness.  Not sure I'd have been able to drum that up.   Vastly apppreciated.

MetroFeme, yair it's quiet. We like it that way.  Probably a thousand members registered, but only a dozen or two regulars.  It's just our little bolt hole.  And is why I've never promoted this forum aside from this thread, and one ten years ago.   Grab a beer and stand with your back to the fireplace.  And it's also why it self-moderates, and it be the rarest of things for me to swing the ban-hammer.
