According to a Channel 7 news report posted a few hours ago, the reporter states the the train is heading for the scrap yard, the XPT beyond repairThe XPT is:XP2018, XAM2179, XL2229, XBR2155, XF2201, XFH2108 and XP2000.
They may scrap XP2018...
XF2201, XFH2108 and XP2000 look quite ok, and might need minor repair.
There aren't enough spare XAM, XBR and XL to scrap those....
Bombardier could have those repaired in a couple of weeks. They could probably fix 2018 while they are at it.
Peter
For the record, they've been running XPT services with one power car (XP2003) out of action since January 2018.
This was the full report - again.....don't take things they say as gospel....but simply putting a link to it for those interested.
