QUBE Logistics’ MC1 service often throws up some different motive power combinations and this is a prime example. Due to a grassfire around the Craigieburn area on Friday the 17th which affected both the Broad Gauge Seymour line and the Standard Gauge Melbourne to Sydney line 6MC1 was running approximately 6 hours late and therefore the regular CF class locomotives were out of position for the return into Melbourne, this lead to 7MC1 being hauled by a combination that would be considered somewhat unusual after the demise of El Zorro. The train consisted of CFCLA EL58, C508 and GL101.
