AL24/GM24 waits to depart Spencer Junction with the weekly 'Tea and Sugar' train that serviced the track gangs and isolated communities across the Nullarbor between Port Augusta and Kalgoorlie. Improved infrastructure and maintenance practices during the 1990s eventually saw cessation of this service. A reasonably large group of enthusiasts (including me) travelled on this particular working as far as Watson.
