    Lithgow dump

    In the bush adjacent to Lithgow locomotive depot in the Blue Mountains, former New South Wales Government Railway's electric locomotive no.4634 and other class members await to be trucked off to the scrapper's in October 1994.

    Forty class 46 1500v DC electric locos were built between 1956-58 by Metropolitan Vickers/ Beyer Peacock. Although some survived for another year after this pic was taken, even by this date there was very little work left for the remaining members of the class.
