    In the twilight of the broad gauge era, C509/C501 climb the grade through the Adelaide suburb of Lynton with 1AM5 superfreighter for Melbourne on the afternoon of Sunday 19 February 1995.

    The 10 C class EMD-powered locomotives were built by Clyde Engineering in South Australia for the Victorian state railway in 1977/1978. All are still in service with private operators mainly in NSW and Victoria.
