Another image with an awful lot of contemporary history in it. Australia Southern Railroad locomotives CLP14/CLP11 climb away from Yorkeys Crossing, near Port Augusta, with the Wednesday Adelaide to Perth 4AP4T service on behalf of Toll Holdings.
Toll negotiated track access and owned the train path, while ASR provided locomotives, (some) rolling stock and crews on a 'hook and pull' basis.
This image was used on a number of occasions in promotional materials associated with the building of the Alice Springs to Darwin railway.
