145 C30 class locomotives were built for the NSWGR from 1903 to 1917.
95 were built from Beyer Peacock and co while the other 50 were built in the New South Wales Government Railway Workshops at Eveleigh.
The class were formally known as the S636 class until being reclassified in 1924 to the C30 class.
They were withdrawn from 1957 until 1973 and 5 locos have survived into preservation.
