Back when the Adelaide-Melbourne Overland loaded to 12 cars and ran every night in each direction seven days week, jointly operated by government rail operators Australian National and V/Line.
Today it is privately run by Great Southern Rail and only operates twice a week in each direction, rarely loading to more than six cars.
On the morning of 4 December 1987, V/Line loco X50 combines with Australian National's 937 to lift their Melbourne bound consist up Warrenheip Bank.
