BHP centre cab GE 80 ton switcher no 57 was built by A Goninan and co in Broadmeadow and entered service at the Newcastle Steelworks in December 1982. 22 of the class were built called the BHP Newcastle 36 class between 1960 and 1983 and 13 still survive. With the closure of the Newcastle steelworks on 30th September 1999, 57 was withdrawn and sold to the Junee Railway workshops in July 2002. 57 is seen here stabled at the Junee Railway Workshops on 25-9-2016
