Withdrawn following a major engine failure. Stored at Dynon until purchased by Seymour Rail Heritage Centre in 1998 for preservation. X35 was later transferred back to Freight Australia for rebuilding to XR551. Freight Australia obtained X35 on condition that when X31, when retired, would pass to SRHC for preservation instead. |
