The Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC), already popular overseas for selling the state as a sought after destination for weddings in age-old & magnificent forts, palaces and havelis, now plans to use its two luxury trains - Palace on Wheels and Rajasthan Royals on Wheels - for marriages from next year.
Are you among those who have fancied your wedding to be an extravaganza that would be remembered for years by your near and dear ones? If so, the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) has planned something exciting for you. After promoting Rajasthan's forts, palaces, and havelis as marriage venues, RTDC now plans to use its luxury trains - Palace on Wheels and Rajasthan Royals on Wheels for wedding from next year on.
What's more, it won't cost you a mammoth amount to host your wedding onboard these luxury trains unlike the beach/cruise/seven star weddings that cost you around Rs 10 to 30 crore for just three to four days. On board Palace on Wheels and Rajasthan Royals on Wheels, you can get your wedding ceremonies done in a style no less than that of the Kings and Queens of the bygone era in Rs 2-3 crore.
"Tickets for the entire train will work out to Rs 1.85 crore. With all services availed, the expenses won't go beyond Rs 2.5 crore," RTDC general manager Pramod Sharma said. For Rajasthan Royals on Wheels, one can hire the train for under Rs 1.5 crore as it seats only 82 people. "Other expenses will run up to around Rs 20-30 lakh and keep the budget under Rs 1.75 crore," Dhankar said.
To make your wedding a lavish affair unmatched and unheard of, RTDC would handle everything - from a grand royal welcome to the guests to having a priest on board to a honeymoon suite for the newlyweds and arranging for various wedding functions like cocktails and lavish buffets, that too every evening for an entire week. Please have a look at the table below for a tentative price list & other details of both the luxury trains for wedding events:

"Tickets for the entire train will work out to Rs.1.85 crore. With all services availed, the expenses won't go beyond Rs.2.5 crore," said RTDC General Manager Pramod Sharma.
For Rajasthan Royals on Wheels, the luxury train can be hired for under Rs.1.5 crore as it seats only 82 people. "Other expenses will run up to around Rs.20-30 lakh and keep the budget under Rs.1.75 crore," confirmed Dhankar.
