Inland rail a trifecta for Toowoomba region: mayor
CENTRAL Victorian mayors will take their concerns about fast rail to the State Government on Thursday. A meeting comes after seven central Victorian mayors wrote to the government, demanding it release new timetable information for Bendigo to Melbourne train services under the fast rail project, before construction on the line began.
Mayors of the City of Greater Bendigo and Loddon, Campaspe, Mount Alexander, Macedon Ranges, Central Goldfields and Gannawarra shires called on the government to release proposed timetables in August. They sought clarification on a range of issues about the $200 million fast rail project, raised by the Castlemaine-based Better Rail Action Group.
