Opposition leader Lawrence Springborg has called on Queensland Rail (QR) to freeze plans to cut 700 jobs until an investigation into the Tilt Train derailment is complete.
Mr Springborg said while his thoughts and best wishes were with the passengers and their families, action should be taken to halt planned job cuts at QR. The government-owned rail company announced a plan in August to shed about 700 jobs, citing a need to become more competitive in the national freight market.
