Christmas came late for Just Jeans and Portmans on Bourke Street when a cash bag was returned to them after being accidentally left behind on a tram.
The bag containing significant cash earnings from the two stores over the Christmas trading period was accidentally left on board a tram on 29 December by a security contractor on their way to the bank.
The driver of the tram, Lynette Robinson, was astounded to discover the quantity of cash that had been left on her tram. She immediately reported it to the police and the money was soon returned to its rightful owner.
Just Jeans and Portmans said they were very grateful for the honesty shown by Lynette in handing in the forgotten cash.
Yarra Trams is proud of the way Lynette managed the situation and demonstrated the integrity of Yarra Trams employees.
