A revised timetable for the Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong train lines will begin on 31 January 2016. Some V/Line coach routes will also have adjusted schedules.
The adjustments take into account V/Line’s rapid patronage growth and allow enough time at stations for customers to safely get on and off trains.
The revised Ballarat and Geelong timetables aim to reduce delays on the busiest sections of the lines.
Some trains will have altered departure and arrival times to better reflect the trip durations and others will have altered stopping patterns.
Some coach timetables will be adjusted to reflect traffic conditions and journey times. Other routes will have an extra stop while some are changing by a few minutes to ensure better connections with V/Line trains.
To view the new timetables please click here. Printed copies will be available from your nearest staffed V/Line station, premium Metro station or V/Line retail outlet by the end of this week.
Bookings are now open for all reserved services from 31 January onwards.
Construction has started on the Rowsley Crossing Loop near Bacchus Marsh which is another step towards improving performance on the Ballarat line. The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-2016.
Bendigo Stage one of Bendigo Metro Rail will be introduced as part of the adjusted Bendigo line timetable, including an additional morning and PM peak train and additional services for Epsom, Eaglehawk and Kangaroo Flat.
There will be one additional morning train and an extra PM peak service on the Bendigo line.
Coach services will now stop at Congupna, so there will be minor changes to timetables on the Murraylink coach between Albury and Kerang and also on the Shepparton-Cobram and Seymour-Tocumwal routes.
V/Line coach services between Dandenong and Inverloch will have scheduled stops at Deep Creek Street near Grantville, Wonthaggi North and Inverloch Police Station, and some departure times will change by up to 19 minutes. The Bay Road stop on this route will be renamed Jam Jerrup.
There will be minor changes to reflect traffic conditions and to improve connections with other services on some V/Line coaches between:
