A man who was left fighting for his life after his car crashed into a train has died.
The 28-year-old man from Norlane was driving a four-wheel-drive when it collided with a V/Line train at a crossing about 800 metres from Bairnsdale Station after 6am on Monday morning.

He died on Tuesday.
Police said the cause of the incident is yet to be determined and the investigation was ongoing.
