AUSTRALIA’s “respectful” debate on whether or not same-sex marriage should be legalised is becoming increasingly nasty after one Sydney train was covered in homophobic graffiti.
The vandalised train was spotted by a Reddit user travelling to Circular Quay — one of Sydney’s most popular tourist destinations — who labelled it as “absolutely f**king disgusting”.

The carriage had been covered in everything from swastikas to “vote no to fags” and “faggots not welcome” — all of which was written in permanent marker.

The train was also covered with the numbers 2200, which is the postcode for the western Sydney suburb of Bankstown.
A Sydney Trains spokesman confirmed to news.com.au, the graffiti was immediately removed after being reported.
