Victoria, 3-10 to 8-10-2004
On Tuesday, April 23rd, we set out for Detroit, MI, and the railfanning is told below:
The first stop on the trip was Bayview Junction, the famous junction in Hamilton, ON. Unfortunately, nothing would be coming for another hour, so onward!
In Windsor, ON, I grabbed a shot of the Ambassador Bridge against fading light.
One of the best parts of visiting Detroit is that to get around, you had to take the people mover!
The automated light rail system, which costs 75 cents to ride, operates with 3 2-car trains, all moving the same direction.
While commuting to and from our hotel in Woodhaven, we passed Delray Junction many times, and saw locomotives from 6 of 7 class 1 railroads at Delray.
As usual with my trip posts, the first part doesn’t feature many trains, but the next post will feature Delray Junction. -Harrison with Gideon
