DEMONSTRATING the need for the return of a passenger rail service via a feasibility study is high on the priority list, according to NorthWest Rail Alliance president Christian Mitchell.
The alliance held its annual general meeting at the weekend, where Mildura mayor and keynote speaker Simon Clemence recommended the group “keep advocating, because the State Government is really interested” in the topic.
The Sunraysia community has been fighting for the return of a passenger rail service since it was withdrawn in 1993, with Mildura Council advocating for funds as one of the Future Ready projects.
