Ballarat will receive a substanial sum of money from the State Government next week.
In the State Budget, which will be unveiled on Monday by Treasurer Tim Pallas, $100 million will be allocated for more reliable and on-time trains to Ballarat.
Separating the regional and metropolitan rail services will see V/Line trains no longer subjected to delays caused my metro system failures.
Works to electrify the Ballarat line to Melton have already commenced.
The improvements are also expected to result in faster train services along the Ballarat line.
