The group restoring 71000 Duke of Gloucester has announced that they are auctioning off a replica of 71000s whistle.
Yes, that means that you can own your own replica of the Duke’s whistle.
The whistle is solid brass and is 12 inches high, 4 inches in diameter and weighs over 14 lbs.
The whistle is mounted on a presentation board so that it looks good on your sideboard.
The group are looking for bids and will sell it to the highest bidder after the Tyseley Open Days in September 2019.
The reserve price is £700 and you can enter a bid by posting a comment on this page. You can stay anonymous if you like, just state that when you comment.
At the time of writing, the highest bid is £725.
