Statement from Ixion Model Railways Ltd
Pacific Coast Region of National Model Railroad Association, an MRH advertiser, was pleased to co-sponsor Bay Area Prototype Modelers 2019 yesterday. This is an annual event usually held in Richmond, California.
For a $15 admission fee, modelers may display or view scale railroad models, typically closely following prototype practice. Modern prototypes tend to dominate, but there were plenty of models of earlier prototypes as well. The day included three clinics, titled "Enhancing and Tuning Diesel Sound" by George Bogatiuk of Soundtraxx, "Weathering Freight Cars" by Butch Eyler of The WeatheringShop.com (see special note about Butch's models in a later post), and "BN Predecessor Freight Cars" byTom Bacarella. There were multiple raffle drawings featuring great prizes from major model railroad manufacturers and from local hobby shops. Participating hobby manufacturers and vendors included Cannon & Company, Class 5 Signals / Limited Editions, Espee Models / Southern Pacific Historical & Technical Society, Owl Mountain Models, Rapido Trains, ScaleTrains.com, Soundtraxx, Short Line Model Products, and SPROG-DCC / Scale Signal Systems.
BAPM has no judging and no contests. It's a great opportunity to meet with fellow modelers, see lots of great models, share tips, learn new techniques and discovery new suppliers.
