A TRUCK driver escaped injury when his truck collided with a passenger train in Victoria's north tonight.
A police spokeswoman said the truck hit the V-Line passenger train at the Mitiamo railway crossing, about 60 kilometres north of Bendigo, about 6pm.

Passengers on the train were to transported to Bendigo on a bus before boarding another Melbourne-bound train.
The impact with the truck caused minor damage to the train, with normal services on the line set to resume tomorrow.
