Collie welcomed a train full of visitors from Perth on Saturday when the Hotham Valley train pulled into town.
Excited: Amy Nelson (10), Beckie Read (5) and Kiah Read (7) excitedly wait for the Hotham Valley Train to arrive in Collie on Saturday. They were part of a group of locals who took advantage of the opportunity to take the Hotham Valley’s Collie Coalfields Explorer journey.
Locals also took the opportunity to take a trip on the Collie Coalfields Explorer, as the train is known during its trip from Collie to Ewington and back.
Displays were held in the town centre for the visitors, including the Collie Heritage Group's collection of restored railway wagons, a portable timber mill and the Goods Shed markets.
The newly rebuilt railway station was also open for visitors to look through.
