A 34-year-old man took a very costly train trip on Thursday.
The man was on the train near Dapto on Thursday afternoon when police asked him where he was going.
He told them he was going for a swim, despite a lack of swimming gear.
Under further questioning, police found he had been twice spoken to about being outside without a reasonable excuse.
Also police found he was carrying a knife.
The man was fined $1000 and given a court attendance notice for carrying a knife in public.
He was also hit with an infringement notice for not having a train ticket.
