There were only 93 sightings for this week, which is nine sightings more than last week, making a total of 3637* sightings for this year to date. On day 257 last year we had seen 3856 sightings.
We have seen no sighting on the B/G this week.

All six Overland trains this week had NR13 at the point. On Sunday's down BA6 train we saw NR85 for the first time in its new Southern Spirit Livery and we have seen it on a total of four freight trains this week. On Saturday night we saw the first El Zorro mineral sands train that will run between Melbourne and Portland each week, Saturday's down empty containers was hauled by T386(ELZ) with 21 wagons and a total of 63 containers. It is reported that G532(S) was taken off the up El Zorro grain train yesterday so that it could join the mineral sands train to return loaded to Melbourne late Sunday night. Monday's up SCT train came in with SCT006*+SCT014*+SCT011*+SCT015*.
On Friday afternoon when I got home from work I noticed the up steel train PW4 sitting in the loop, then it later departed without crossing another train. Then the up Overland came slowly into the loop and I heard over the scanner that there was a signaling fault further down the line and that the Overland would have to sit at Gheringhap for a while. But it seemed to be getting worse as the evening came. PM6 arrived at 2212 Friday night and was sat in the loop till 1005 Saturday morning after crossing six down trains, MP9/MA5/MA6/MP7/MP5 AND MA8. It was reported that there were trains in every loop from Gheringhap to Tatyoon on Saturday morning.
MP9 was through at 0012. MA5 at 0300/0332 after a crew change. MA6 at 0555. MP7 at 0831. MP5 at 0924 and the Overland MA8 the only train about on time at 1002. That was then followed by the procession of up trains. We totaled 17 trains for Saturday but only saw 11 on Friday.
