Metro trains are in damage control this evening with a major power blackout affecting trains in the Flinders Street area. Railpage has been advised a number of Metro trains are stopped and unable to move in the Jolimont area.
Railpage has been told the trains stopped moving stranding passengers around 5:45pm. Only in the last 30 minutes have passengers been able to leave the train and walk assisted to either Richmond or Flinders Street Stations.
The issues come after a series of embarrassing problems which have plagued Melbourne's new operator since taking over running the network last December.
