Investigations are underway into a passenger train fire in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.
State Rail now says 30 people were evacuated from the train after one of its engines overheated and caught fire near Springwood.
Spokesman John Novakovic says two people were taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.
"I'd have to commend the train crew for their actions - they kept everyone calm and informed, moved them to the back of the train and then calmly made their way back to the station and everyone was very co-operative," he said.
"The train driver and one female passenger were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure with smoke inhalation."
He says emergency workers are continuing to clean up the site.
The lines between Springwood and Valley Heights train stations have been shut with buses from Penrith replacing trains.
One passenger and the train driver were taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.
An investigation is underway.
