Footscray residents whose homes will be destroyed to make way for the Regional Rail Link have rallied on the steps of Parliament.
Several houses in Footscray will be compulsorily acquired to make way for the new rail lines.
Other houses in the area will be deemed "unsaleable" once the tracks are laid.
Locals say the Government has failed to consult with them and has kept them in the dark about the project's details.
Buckley Street resident, Nick, says the Government still isn't giving residents any information.
"In lieu of any accurate information there's a lot of rumour and people are becoming more upset," he said.
"It's really knocked me for six in the last couple of weeks."
Greens MP Colleen Hartland says the whole process has been handled badly.
"You can't do these projects and treat people the way they've been treated in the last few weeks," she said.
