Closure of Newcastle rail stations not technically a closure of whole line, State Government lawyer says
Police have revealed why Dunmore railway station was closed yesterday morning, throwing train timetables into disarray.
The area was sealed off due to the search for a 20-year-old Berkshire Park man wanted for theft.
Police say the man was pulled over in Kiama Downs about 4:00am (AEDT) yesterday but fled from the scene, emerging near Dunmore railway station.
He was eventually arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter, escape from lawful custody and goods in custody.
