The French subsidiary of SNCF, Voies Ferrées Locales et Industrielles (VFLI), has ordered 12 Euro4001 locomotives from Stadler Rail. According to the contract, 3 locomotives will be directly owned by VFLI, while the 9 remaining locomotives will be delivered to rolling stock leasing company Alpha Trains, to be operated under VFLI.
Most recently, Alpha Trains has released a picture of the first Euro 4001 locomotive getting ready for testing, announcing the planned delivery to the customer in 2020.
