It is unclear whether Indian conglomerate Adani will ask local companies to transport coal for its controversial Carmichael mine so it may be a "moot point" whether Aurizon ends up bidding for haulage contracts, chairman Tim Poole said.
Mr Poole told Aurizon's annual general meeting that the rail group wasn't aware that Adani had put any coal haulage contracts out for tender. “They may well do it themselves, we don’t know,” he told the meeting in Brisbane,
