The Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) is now leaving the coal-based project and is stepping into other new sectors. This includes the high speed rail (bullet train) project. For this, BHEL has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japanese company Kawasaki. Bhopal will be given priority for manufacturingn of equipment for army and bullet train. In a discussion with reporters, BHEL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Atul Sobti said on Tuesday. He said that BHEL does not want to run on the old path, so it is looking for new possibilities.
BHEL CMD Atul Sobati said, “The order is yet to come for the bullet train and the Metro, as the tender process has to be done after the agreement with Japan’s Kawasaki Company.”
CMD Sobati said, “BHEL is working in all sectors of the economy, renewable energy, defense, transmission.” If I give some examples, then five bulbs are burning, then there are three bulbs are made in the supply depot of BHEL. Indian Railways working on a very big project, it includes 30,000 km of electrification, most of order will be given to BHEL.”
Pragati Deergha will inspire youngsters
BHEL Managing Director and President Atul Sobti inaugurated the Pragati Deergha in Pipalani. He said that BHEL has always been supporting the development of the country. We worked inside the railway, working in the defense. When the country has done so much work. Therefore, it was decided to gather this information in one place. The young generation will be taught in the progress of BHEL in the Pragati Deergha.
Metro Bogie orders soon
It is expected that BHEL will get the orders of the metro bogies soon along with the equipment of the army. For this, Bhopal unit will be a major contributor for manufacturing of equipment for High Speed Rail (Bullet Train) project. The Metro bogie has set up a place in Bhopal and BHEL has also been paying attention to the youth.
