Train operator, London Northwestern Railway, is urging its passengers to only use train services for essential journeys ahead of its new timetable coming into operation.
With social distancing guidelines still in effect, train capacity remains low, and London North Western Railway is asking passengers to only travel by train if they have no other option.
Passengers who have to use the train are being asked to check their journeys when the new timetable comes into operation on Monday 18th May 2020.
The new timetable includes trains through The Potteries, which saw trains stopped last month.
Passengers are also being urged to follow guidance and wear a face mask whilst travelling. Other measures such as one-way systems may also be in operation.
Lawrence Bowman, customer experience director for London Northwestern Railway, said “I would like to thank all the people who have stayed away from the railway during the national emergency. Since the travel restrictions have been in place we’ve been able to help thousands of key workers make essential journeys across the region. The well-being of our customers and staff is our top priority which is why we are asking our passengers to act considerately and think very carefully if they really need to travel by train.”
The new timetables will be available online at http://www.lnr.uk/coronavirus from today.
