After a few sporadic runs to Borthwicks' Bakers Creek Meatworks since the siding south of Mackay was re-commissioned by QR in 2016, it appears more regular services may have started
Last week Aurizon ran a short rake to the meatworks, and today a thirty wagon train operated from Townsville to Mackay for Bakers Creek. Regular cattle trains are currently running every Friday from Townsville to Lakes Creek in Rockhampton and returning on Saturdays before running west to Julia Creek and Cloncurry.
