A couple have escaped serious injuries after a train and car collided at Currency Creek this afternoon.
Just before 2.50pm, Sunday 8 October, a Toyota Prado and a locomotive collided on Goolwa Road about 150mtrs from Alexandrina Road. The driver a 68-year-old man from Goolwa South was airlifted to the Flinders Medical Centre with serious but non-life threatening injuries. His passenger a woman in her 60's from Goolwa South was taken to Victor Harbor hospital with minor injuries.
Rail Safety Officers and SAPOL will investigate the circumstances of the crash.
There were no passengers on the train at the time of the incident.
