A railway machine used to repair and align the tracks derailed near Chak 91-JB between Pacca Anna and Sirshameer railway stations on Khanewal- Faisalabad section of the PR on Sunday afternoon.
After the accident, the trains running between Lahore and Karachi were stopped at different railway stations, including Shorkot Cantonment, Toba Tek Singh and Gojra.
The railway traffic could not be restored when this report was filed in the evening.
A railway official said a heavy crane having capacity to remove the derailed machine was on its way to the accident spot.
