Bhopal based infrastructure firm, Dilip Buildcon Limited (DBL) has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for the construction of a new Greenfield Airport at Hirasar, Rajkot in Gujarat on EPC basis. The company informed in a regulatory filing on November 1. The total value of contract excluding GST is Rs 570.06 crores.
The scope of work includes detailed designing, engineering, and construction of the runway, basic strips, turning pads, taxiway, parallel taxi track (PTT), apron, perimeter and other roads, earthwork in cut/fill & grading, drainage system, related retaining structure, fire stations, MT pool, fire pit, cooling pit, ARP and associated approaches, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of airfield ground lighting system, visual aids of navigation and bird hazard reduction system etc. of new Greenfield Airport Hirasar, Rajkot, Gujarat, India on EPC basis.
“We are pleased to inform you that the Company has been declared ‘L1 Bidder’ by the Airport Authority of India for the construction of a new Greenfield Airport at Hirasar, Rajkot in Gujarat on EPC basis”, said in the letter of the Dilip Buildcon Limited.
The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has issued the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) to Dilip Buildcon Limited and according to the terms of the contract, the firm has to complete the work in 30 months.
On February 28, the central government cabinet had approved the development of a new greenfield airport at Hirasar. The new proposed greenfield airport will be 28 km from Rajkot, will be built in an area of 1,025.54 hectares. According to the estimation of Airport Authority of India (AAI), it is expected to see air traffic of 5 to 10 percent.
Apart from this, Dilip Buildcon Limited has also secured awarded two major contracts from the Madhya Pradesh government for the construction of viaducts and stations of Phase I project of Bhopal and Indore Metro Rail projects.
