AN elderly man escaped with only minor injuries after falling under a train at Central yesterday.
The man lost his footing and fell between the second and third carriages and onto the tracks as the Cronulla-bound train pulled into the platform about 4.35pm.
The driver stopped the train immediately as bystanders rushed to the man's aid, He was freed by emergency servies personnel and taken to hospital with a minor head wound.

"He's lucky," an emergency worker said.
Trains were delayed and people filled the platform after passengers were asked to disembark.
Kim Hughes was on board headed for Kirrawee when the service ground to a halt.
"They just said that an elderly man had got caught. We were told to get off," she said.
"There were just a lot of people. There were a lot of police around."
Once trains started moving again, Illawarra and South Coast line commuter were warned to expect delays.
