Fire Next To Enfield Yard-Luckily, No-one Was Injured And There Were No Passing Trains
A fire is not an unusual event when here is high heat and wind. Today, around midday, there was very high wind and a powerline snapped.
Soon, a fire broke out on Wentworth Road, Greenacre and within minutes, the trees had caught alight.
The fire was small, but was growing rapidly. Luckily, there were no trains passing then. The fire truck took a long time to come, surprisingly, when the fire and rescue NSW operation and maintenance division was next door.
It took over thirty minutes for them to come, but not much vegetation was destroyed. The fire reached the power lines, but the wind suddenly blew away from the power lines.
Finally, the firemen came and extinguished the fire.
