As a leading supplier of maintenance and asset management systems, CARL Software will be highlighting two current projects at InnoTrans 2016.
In France, the company is supplying its CARL Source Transport and mobile CARL Touch CMMS software to the MESEA consortium, which will be responsible for operating and maintaining the LGV Sud Europe Atlantique high speed line between Tours and Bordeaux after it opens in July 2017. To meet the project requirements, CARL Software has integrated GEOMAP GIS functionality into both systems.
MESEA staff will be based at four maintenance sites now under construction at Nouâtre-Maillé, Poitiers, Villognon and Clérac. They will be responsible for regular inspection and routine maintenance of 302 km of track, 70 turnouts and 500 bridges, as well as the overhead electrification and signalling systems.
Around 150 technicians will be provided with tablet computers running the linear asset support systems, allowing them to geolocate the equipment to be maintained, refer to supporting documentation in the field, enter reports in real time and manage the supply of spare parts.
Meanwhile, the rolling stock department at Colas Rail has adopted the same two software systems to support its strategic objective of becoming a leading player in vehicle maintenance.
CARL Source Transport CMMS has been used to structure maintenance activities at Colas Rail workshops across Europe. This includes standard processes, working methods, inventory management and financial planning. It also assists with customer relationship management, as each customer has access to the CMMS to track in real time any work being carried out on its equipment either by Colas Rail teams or by its own staff. Technicians use the CARL Touch mobile application to interact with the CMMS.
Having obtained certification as an Entity in Charge of Maintenance, Colas Rail is now establishing a commercial structure dedicated to the development of rolling stock maintenance activities in France, Belgium, Morocco and Chile.
Both projects will be discussed at InnoTrans, in a special presentation at the Speakers' Corner in Hall 14.2, starting at 11.30 on September 22.
