Trains will stop in their tracks between Geelong and Melbourne over the next six days as works are held on the local line.
Public Transport Victoria is completing improvement and maintenance works on the line.
Work on a new train stabling at Wyndham Vale is also continuing.
It means buses are currently replacing train services until Sunday night, with a mix of express, semi-express and buses stopping at all stations.\
Larissa Scanlon from PTV asked passengers to allow for extra time on their journey.
"It is possible we may need to allow for 30 to 45 minutes for the journey, depending on the time of travel," she said.
While passenger trains won't be running, test trains and track machinery will be taking to the line, so drivers are being urged to obey level crossing signs.
Extra buses will also be running for AFL matches.
However the trains are scheduled to return for Geelong's Easter Monday clash against Hawthorn.
