There were 88 sightings for this week. This is six sighting less than last week, making a total of 3672 sightings for this year to date. On day 304 last year we had recorded 4328 sightings.
We have seen nine sightings on the B/G this week, which is six more that last week.
All three Mildura trains were seen and all trains had G525 on the front, as did Wednesdays up Diverted Mildura train 9104. On Monday we saw H1(PN) on a down light loco movement to Gheringhap to pick up the ten cement pots in the gypsum siding, before departing on the up. And on the same day we had a visit from EM100 on the down. On Wednesday morning we saw an EMU transfer to Ballarat on the down with T357(VR) and 575M-1138T-576M+404M-1018T-403M and a van. And late on Friday night we saw a special pass to Mildura with S313(SRV)+T395(SRV)+S301(PN) and 15 cars.
On the S/G we have seen one sighting of DL39 and ten sightings of AN class locos, with five of them being seen on the Patrick’s trains along with six XRB slave unit sightings. We have seen only two sleeper trains this week, but they were double the size as usual. It was on the down on Thursday with 8173+8153 and 36 loaded wagons and the same train returned empty on the up early on Friday morning.
On the eight SCT trains we have seen 23 SCT class loco sightings. On all the six P & O train we saw VL355+VL356. And on the four QRN trains we saw seven sightings of LDP’s 003 and 004, one sighting of a QRN G class, one sighting of CLP11(Q) and one sighting of QRN’s 6001.
Sunday night’s MP5 went out with four NR’s. Mondays up PM9 SCT train came in with SCT012+SCT002+SCT004+SCT013. On Tuesday morning AM5 was misfortunate to be involved in a fatality in Lara which resulted in QRN’s AM6 being held up at Gheringhap for just over three and a half hours and the down Overland being two hours late through Gheringhap. And the down PN steel came through with a DL class loco, NR103(PN)+DL39(PN)+NR29(PN). Also on Tuesday night we had three PN Perth trains in the loop at the same time. PM5 pulled into No2 road with 65 platforms at 2330 then at 0010 PM7 pulled in behind PM5 with 70 platforms, but not much of the PM7 train would fit into the loop. At 0025 MP5 arrived into No1 road on the down, then PM5 departed on the up allowing PM7 to fit into No2 road before MP5 could depart. Saturdays up PM6 came in with NR82*+NR27(IP)+AN2(NR)+NR111*. And we again saw QRN and SCT trains hauling each others loading.
